Scholarships and Bursaries
In an effort to encourage young people to become contributing and successful members of our community, the credit union provides annual scholarship funding for higher education.
In addition, the Credit Union Foundation of BC has a bursary program available to both members and non-members of credit unions.
Sunshine Coast Credit Union Scholarships
The credit union provides annual scholarships to each of the three high schools on the Sunshine Coast. The scholarships are for post-secondary education and the funds are administered by School District No. 46 -Sunshine Coast. The credit union is not involved in the selection process, as each school is given the responsibility to select the recipients.
Credit Union Foundation of BC Education Awards
The Credit Union Foundation of BC is a province-wide philanthropic organization of the credit union system founded and funded by British Columbia credit union members. The foundation’s primary purpose is to provide education awards to post secondary students who are residents of BC that are in need of financial assistance for academic, technological or vocational training at accredited schools within the province.
The main criteria for bursary applicants is to demonstrate a financial need. You can find the full list of criteria, along with the online application form at CUBC’s site: www.cufoundation.org.
