Registered Education Savings Plans (RESPs)
A Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP) is a government endorsed plan for the purpose of providing a beneficiary with funding for post-secondary studies. Contributions to this type of plan are not tax deductible, but income and grants that build up in the plan are sheltered from tax until they are withdrawn to pay for the beneficiary's eligible post-secondary education. Income earned within the plan is not taxed until withdrawn Sunshine Coast Credit Union offers RESP accounts with:
- variable and fixed rate terms: 1-5 years
- fixed rate minimum deposit $100; non-redeemable
- automatic monthly contributions to variable plan arranged from any credit union account
- no set-up or administration fees
