We are excited to announce that Autodeposit and INTERAC e-Transfer® Request Money features are now available for individual and business accounts. INTERAC e-Transfer® is a convenient and secure way to transfer money from anywhere to anyone with online banking within Canada.

Autodeposit

Autodeposit is a faster and more convenient way to receive money sent via INTERAC e-Transfer®. Autodeposit allows you to skip the security questions, loging in to your account and choosing your financial institution, every time you receive money. Autodeposit will automatically deposit your incoming INTERAC e-Transfer® in your selected account for you.

Register for Autodeposit by following these three steps:

  1. Login to your online banking and navigate to Transfers and select Send INTERAC e-Transfer®.
  2. Select Autodeposit and enter their email address.
  3. You will receive an email asking you to confirm your registration. Check your inbox and click on “Complete Registration”.

Autodeposit only works between financial institutions that both support the feature. If you send or receive an INTERAC e-Transfer® from an individual or business whose financial institution does not support Autodeposit, the recipient will be required to answer security questions to deposit the funds.

INTERAC e-Transfer® Request Money

Whether you are an individual or business, you can use INTERAC e-Transfer® Request Money to easily request what you are owed. When you send a request, the recipient is notified via SMS or email.  When the request is accepted by the recipient, the amount requested will be deposited into your selected account.

Request money by following these steps.

  1. Login to your online banking and navigate to Transfers and select Request INTERAC e-Transfer®.
  2. Add or select a contact and fill out the name and e-mail address or phone number of the individual you wish to request money from.
  3. Enter the amount you are requesting and select the account you wish to deposit the funds in. You can also send a personalized message on this page, if you wish to.
  4. Select confirm and the request will be sent. Once the recipient has approved of the amount requested, the money will be deposited in your account.

 You can use INTERAC e-Transfer® Request Money between financial institutions that support the feature. If you request for money from an individual or business whose financial institution does not support INTERAC e-Transfer® Request Money, the recipient will be asked to decline the request and send money using INTERAC e-Transfer®.

INTERAC e-Transfer® Safety

When you send an INTERAC e-Transfer® by text or email, the money never travels with the message. Instead, recipients receive an encrypted link to deposit the funds using their own banking credentials. Any transfers you send or receive will appear in your transaction history and on your statements, so you always have a record. 

If you would like to be extra vigilant, sign up for mobile alerts. Registering is free and gives you additional peace of mind by instantly alerting you to potentially fraudulent activity in your online banking. 

Keeping your personal banking details safe can only be achieved if we work together. This is why we advise you to use up-to-date anti-virus software, from a reputable vendor. We also advise for the anti-virus programs to be updated regularly through the use of auto-update. This will enable the anti-virus program to download profiles of new viruses so it can better serve you.
